2011 Summer:

Form Finding
Urban Triangular Structure Canopy
Unit Tutor: Jorge Ayala
Ali Qapu in Isfahan, a grand palace in Isfahan, features a unique dome design with repeating units, influenced by profile, depth, and acoustics. We simplified the dome interior using a single triangle, assigned codes to vertices and secured them with tension. The bazaar entrance's mesh structure was replaced by a 3D triangular geometry system created from specific 2D plan points. Node identification was essential, and a chosen Voronoi topology defined boundaries and directionality, contributing to the spatial organization of the installation. In the form-finding process, these spatial characteristics helped organize both the space and structure, which is a key feature of the installation.

Student Participation
Future Classroom
Before initiating the design process, we prioritized active student involvement. We encouraged students to express their ideas by creating drawings of their ideal classroom, and we seamlessly incorporated these sketches into our design. Our approach was centered on fostering a creative classroom design through the engagement of students.

Autonomous Agent
Projected Agents' Emergent Behavior in the Lubbock City Urban Model
Professor: Kuhn Park
.This project revolves around the collective behavior of diverse agents within an urban environment. It was initiated using the Processing programming tool, which is renowned for its open-source graphical library. Subsequently, this concept was projected into a physical model representing Lubbock city, where the spontaneous actions of autonomous agents predominantly originate from key focal points, particularly buildings.
